I had heard about the Disgusting food museum for some time located in Malmö, Sweden where I live so decided to once and for all take a look because I am very interested to try food from around the world.
Once you are inside and have bought your ticket you get as seen below so you can see how much you can try.
You get to read about all kinds of unusual food from around the world with decorations and even videos.
For obvious reasons I wont post the videos but it included things like cutting the neck of a cow without killing the cow to drink the blood, putting a live fish on a plate so the fish suffocates to get "fresh" fish, eating a live octopus and more.
Some food you get to smell and at the end you get to taste much of it.
The video seen below describes most of it very well.
I did take some photos from the exhibition.
When it came to trying the food I tried it all.
Keep in mind that unlike many I had already tried many weird things before coming like:
-Insects in Cambodia
-Fish eyes in Tokyo, Japan
-Camel, Zebra and Ostrich from a food festival in Sweden some years ago.
That means that I was already prepared and knew I would try it all.
One food that you could try was Kalles Kaviar that made me laugh as a Swede.
What his video seen above did not mention was that once you tried all the food you got to try different hot sauces to see how far you could go.
I managed to try the first 3 sauces before I had to give up.
As you saw in the video above they do have a small shop to sell things even if he never mentioned the books or the frozen food section.
The frozen food section full of even more unusual food.
A little to expensive for my taste but always interesting to see what people eat around the world.
Overall its a very unique and interesting place that helps put Malmö on the map.
Can highly recommend.
